Academic data at SMP Negeri 2 Suak Tapeh are still managed manually using notebooks and physical records, making data retrieval, updating, and archiving time-consuming and prone to inaccuracies. This study aimed to design and implement a web-based academic information system using the Extreme Programming (XP) framework to improve educational services. The study adopted the XP software development methodology, comprising planning, design, coding, and testing. The application was developed using PHP with the Laravel framework and a MySQL database. Its features include the management of student and teacher data, classes, subjects, class schedules, attendance, assessment scores, report cards, and academic announcements, with role-based access for administrators, teachers, school principals, and students. Black-box testing was conducted using 12 scenarios covering the application's main functions. The results showed that all test scenarios passed and the tested functions operated as expected. The developed system helps the school manage academic records efficiently, accurately, and systematically while making it easier for users to retrieve academic data.
